DIET is the most significant educational intervention in the country, while the NCERT came up in the 1960's and the state councils of education research and training came up in 1970's, the need for a third tier of training and resource support structure, right at the district level was genuinely felt in order to improve the quality of basic education. As result DIET's were set up in almost all the districts of all the states in the country.

D.I.E.T. Faridabad has a academic faculty of highly qualified teachers who simultaneously work as Block/ District/State Mentors too, especially to supervise the on going different schemes of Elementary and Secondary Education and guide the teachers to implement the scheme in an effective way through the seven branches as categorized below:

  1. Pre-Service Teacher Education Branch
  2. Work Experience Branch
  3. District Resource Unit for Adult and Non-Formal Education Branch
  4. In-Service programmes, Field Intervention and Innovation Coordination Branch
  5. Curriculum, Material Development and Evaluation Branch
  6. Educational Technology (ET) Branch
  7. Planning and Management Department

A focused approach on this shifting paradigm from teaching to learning and making the teacher a facilitator is the demand of the hour. We, at DIET COLLEGE, firmly believe that without change something sleeps inside us and seldom awakens.

  1. To Provide high level of education and knowledge to students.
  2. To Provide information of new and upcoming technologies to the student.
  3. To Encourage students for research and development.
  4. To Provide career guidance through eminent personalities from academics and industries.
  5. To Organize seminars, guest lectures, industrial training for the student.
  6. To develop personality and inculcate practical knowledge among students.
DIETs : Special Target groups :

The concept a National system of education implies that upto a given level, all students irrespective of caste, creed, location or sex, have access to education of a comparable quality : says the NPE. It goes on to say to promote equality, it will be necessary to provide for equal opportunity to all not only in access, but also in the condition for success. This is quite the essence of and means that needs of educationally disadvantages groups would have to be given maximum attention : The largest such groups are :

  1. Girls and women
  2. Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes minorities
  3. The handicapped and other educationally disadvantaged groups e.g. working children, slumdwellers, inhabitants of hilly, desert and other inaccessible areas etc.
  4. It follows that DIETs also, in all respect of their work, would have to give primary attention to promotion of education of the above groups
